The programs are far from finished yet, but the interface acts very nice, after 4 bytes sent, it waits until the light-switch is opened. And when the light is darkened the port opens once more.

Tomorrow Saturday and Sunday the interface for the composition caster will be demonstrated for the first time.

The programs are far from finished yet, but the interface acts very nice, after 4 bytes sent, it waits until the light-switch is opened. And when the light is darkened the port opens once more.

Quick-C proved no excellent choice making a driver. You can’s expect otherwise of Microsoft-software. The manual is very incomplete at the point of memory and port-addressing.

My friend had a little Pascal-program, this they used to test the devise when it was at their workshop. Some days and night spent, to do the impossible. Writing a routine in Quick-C. Not so quick at all.

In the end they decided to write the driver, with their Port-Test-program as a basis.

Now we may hope it will be there in time, for the demonstration. My provider has major computer-troubles...

Until noon there will serious trouble to do anything on the internet.

The 24 VDC-power-supply gives 22.5 Volts, that’s enough for them to work. The led-indicator next to the switches for the valves did not work. If not tested, nothing works.

Besides Murphy’s law, we might be able to cast for the first time some lines with the new interface.

We’ll keep you informed.

Best wishes,

John Cornelisse
